Hello.
This is Vibe Plastic Surgery.
When is the best time to get plastic surgery?
You've probably thought about this question at least once.

Today, from the perspective of a board-certified plastic surgeon,
we will tell you about the better times to get plastic surgery
and the times you should avoid.
Spring? Summer? When is the best time?

To tell you first, the season doesn't matter.
The time I personally recommend
is when the clinic is relatively quiet
to undergo your surgery.
Generally, people use their school breaks or vacation seasons
to get their surgeries done.
Because there are many visitors during these times,
even if we pay as much attention as possible,
consultations or wait times can become longer.
Does getting surgery in the summer increase the chance of side effects?

NO!
Even if you get surgery in the winter,
if you drink or smoke after the surgery,
or fail to maintain personal hygiene,
inflammation and side effects can occur.
Also, for those who constitutionally sweat a lot,
it is important to manage the surgical site well
so that sweat does not enter it.
However, for surgeries that do not involve external incisions,
such as under-eye fat repositioning where the incision is made only inside the eye,
sweat does not matter much.
As such, regardless of the season, you can proceed with the surgery
according to your own schedule.
Morning? Afternoon? When is a good time for surgery?

There is also no significant difference depending on the time of day.
However, the condition of the surgeon
performing the surgery is important.
If the surgery is performed in a situation
where the surgeon's condition is not well-managed,
the risks will inevitably increase.
As with all surgeries,
the key is how well the doctor
maintains their own condition at its best.
How do you usually manage your own condition, Doctor?

Q: I heard you have a specific morning routine?A: I always take a light walk for about 30 minutes in the morning, stretch, and then go to work.
Just walking in the morning
can sometimes make me feel refreshed,
and stretching while walking
helps loosen up my stiff body.
So even when I go into my first surgery,
I can perform the surgery in a more refreshed
and lighter condition,
which is why I try to follow this routine every day.
As you can see, there is no special self-management method.
However, during the weekdays, to manage my condition,
I rarely make any personal appointments.
When is the best time to get plastic surgery?

The most important thing is not to think only about the day of the surgery,
but you must also consider the post-operative period.
No matter how minor the surgery is,
for a week starting from the day of the surgery,
you need to get plenty of rest.
Not only would you have been very nervous before and after the surgery,
but if an incision was made, there will also be a wound,
so recovering your condition and letting your body heal
will be a very important part.
Therefore, when you have enough free time after the surgery
is exactly the best time to get plastic surgery,
I can say.
Like this, we at Vibe Plastic Surgery have looked into
when it is best to get plastic surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a specific season that is good for plastic surgery?
No, the season does not significantly affect the surgical outcome. Rather than a specific season like summer or winter, it is best to choose a time when the hospital is relatively less busy, resulting in shorter waiting times, or a time that fits your schedule, allowing for sufficient rest after the surgery.
Is there a higher chance of side effects if I have plastic surgery in the summer?
No, the probability of side effects does not increase just because it's summer. Inflammation and side effects are much more often caused by alcohol consumption, smoking, and lack of personal hygiene after surgery rather than seasonal factors, so thorough post-operative care is more important.
I tend to sweat a lot; is it okay to have plastic surgery in the summer?
Yes, it is fine as long as you manage it well to prevent sweat from entering the surgical site. Especially for surgeries like lower blepharoplasty, where incisions are made only on the inside of the eye without external cuts, sweating does not significantly affect surgical recovery.
Is there a better time to have surgery, morning or afternoon?
There is no significant difference based on the time of day. The surgeon's condition on the day of the surgery is much more important than the time of the surgery. The medical team must perform the surgery in their best condition to reduce risks and expect good results.
What is the most important consideration when scheduling plastic surgery?
Securing enough time to rest sufficiently after surgery is the most important consideration. Even for minor surgeries, you need at least a week from the day of the surgery to recover and adjust your condition, so you should schedule your surgery considering the post-operative rest period.
